Workout Gear SALE!!!
I hate working out.
I REALLY hate working out.
I don't know why, I just do. I have never really been a fan of physical fitness. I use to fake menstrual cramps, an upset stomach, and headaches just to get out of P.E in elementary and high school.
BUT, after having 2 kids and turning 35 years old, I realized some sort of physical exertion was necessary to avoid going up 2 sizes in pants every month.
Everyone has their own inspiration for getting their butts to the gym. Mine is workout gear. I realized that when I wore clothes that inspired me to "sweat", then I had an urge to be more active and get to the gym.
This came from the discovery of an affordable and chic workout line, BZ Bella. It was designed by women to flatter the female body in all the right places. They are currently having a 30% off sale off the ENTIRE SITE!. Their prices are already very reasonable for their high quality gear, now this is just an added perk.
Get over to BZ Bella and get some of the cutest, most comfy workout gear at a great price.
Jimmy Choo is Affordable...Now
Do you remember waaaaaaaaay back in June when I hipped you about H & M launching a Jimmy Choo line on November 14, 2009?
Well, the time has come!
Don't think you're just gonna waltz in there and grab a couple pairs though. They are anticipating a big crowd, so get there early (and stay out of my way!).
They will be selling ladies clothing, shoes, handbags, and accessories.
I'm mostly excited about the shoes, which will range in price from $69.95 for cute ballerina flats to $299 for some kick ass thigh high boots. If you're not familiar with Jimmy Choo (seriously?...we can't really be friends!!!) their shoes normally range from $600-$1,200.
The shoes are AMAZING! I thought they would be some sort of lower quality styles. No way. I've got my eyes on 3 pair.
They will also be selling their Jimmy Choo purses, clothing, and accessories.
But wait, the fun doesn't stop with the Jimmy Choo ladies line. They will also have Jimmy Choo for men: shoes, clothing, wallets, bags/briefcases, and belts.
Don't sleep on this one guys. Check their website before you camp out in your sleeping bag. The H&M Jimmy Choo debut will only be at a handful of select H & M stores.
See you biatches there. Hopefully I'll be in front of you at the checkout line.

Work It Out

Someone told me the words "workout gear" and "cute" should not even be used in the same sentence.
I couldn't disagree more. Not only should it me mandatory they go together, it must also be exemplified during the workout process.
Cute workout gear is a MUST.
I hate going to the gym. I hate working out. I hate sweating. I hate wearing tennis shoes.
But, I love being healthy, playing with my kids, being alive, and wearing a bathing suit on occasion.
So, there must be a compromise. It's cute workout gear.
There are a few Brazilian lines that I love because the material is really comfy and they use pretty colors. These lines are pretty expensive though and since I don't enjoy working out, find it hard to justify paying so much when I'd much rather be buying a SKY dress.
BZbella is an amazing line that uses similar fabric at almost half the cost, and it's made in the USA.
The designer is a mom who specifically wanted to create a line to celebrate women's bodies with fun colors and design while still being functional, chic, and affordable. YES! YES! YES! I love wearing clothes designed by moms because they just get it! Moms get what we want to hide and how we want to feel.
I wear their capris when I work out and they are amazing. They don't ride up on you like a lot of the cotton pants (the camel toe look is not cute, especially when you're supposed to be focused on squatting or running. Who has time to keep adjusting their pants in the crotch?). They are so comfy and soft and the material is extremely breathable so they don't get all funky and stinky if you sweat.
I love the BZbella capris so much I wear them around town to just run errands. They feel like pantyhose on my skin and I love it. They also accentuate all the right parts so I feel great when I'm wearing them.
If you gotta work out, get BZbella, or if you just wanna LOOK like you work out, get BZbella.

Jimmy Choo....Coming Soon!
Mommies and daddies, hold on to your diaper bags. You are NOT gonna believe this.
Tamara Mellon, mother, founder and President of Jimmy Choo has announced that Jimmy Choo will be designing a line of bags, shoes and clothing to be sold at select H & M stores.
This new Jimmy Choo line is set to debut November 14.
But wait...there's more. They are also gonna do a line of shoes, bags, and accessories for MEN.
That's right ladies. No more hiding those shopping bags in the car trunk.
Or pretending those new Poppy strappy sandals were an old pair of shoes you just "happened" to find the other day in the back of the closet. "These old things honey?"
Ladies, follow my lead:
Me: Hi honey. How was your day?
Dad: Not so great. Lots of work at the office (blah blah blah).
Me: Well, here's something to cheer you up. I got you a great new pair of Jimmy Choos for you to wear to work tomorrow. You can break them in by kicking your boss's ass in them.
Dad: Ah sweetie (kiss kiss). You're the best.
Me: That's not all. I even got you a stylin Jimmy Choo accessory bag to match your new shoes.
Dad: You shouldn't have. Wow. You're the best.
Me: Yeah, I know.
Dad: Seriously, you should go out and get yourself something too.
Me: Well, now that you mention it...(you know how the the rest of this story goes).

What's the Difference between 24 months and 2T clothing?
Morris was chunky baby, short and fat.
Bronson is the opposite, long and lean.
Basically as far as a baby comparison, Morris is Theodore, Bronson is Simon (and I'm Alvin?).
So here's the big question:

WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 24 MONTHS AND 2T CLOTHING?
I scoured the internet for some intelligent and logical answer, but couldn't find one. I think sizes and cuts vary from each manufacturer, but here are some general tidbits I kept hearing from moms:
*Clothing companies do 2 lines: a baby line and a toddler line. 24 months falls into the baby line, 2T in the toddler line.
*Since 24 months is in the baby line, there are usually snaps to make diaper changes easier. 2T generally does not have snaps or zippers in the crotch region (are there kids really potty trained by the time they're 2? WOW).
*24 months tend to be wider to accomodate a diaper.
This seemed to summarize it best:
The 24 month sizes are more baby-shaped, so they are wider around the trunk. 2T is for children who have started moving around, so they are leaner.
Again, everything varies depending on the manufacturer.
So, in addition to worrying about getting a good night's rest, taking a shower, sneaking in a meal, parents can add trying to decipher which size to buy to the list of parental headaches.
Parents, let's ban together and start an uprising against these clothing companies for the added confusion. We need to let them understand our frustration.
But let's do TWO uprisings:
*One like a 24 month old
*One like a 2 year old toddler (2T)
Then let's see if the clothing companies can tell the difference.
Birthday Dress
A couple of weeks ago I had the following conversation with my mom:
Mom: So, are you going to write anything special on your blog for June 14?
Me: Um, dunno. What day is it on?
Mom: It's a Sunday.
Me: Nah. I usually don't write on Saturday and Sunday.
Mom: (sigh, grumble, hiss) Oh.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!
As a mom, I am slowly mastering the skill that many moms eventually perfect: the art of passive aggressiveness.
(I sure wish I had a nice pretty dress and fancy new shoes to wear in honor of your birthday)
Salt Swimwear
I was worried about an upcoming trip that would require me to donn swimwear in public.
Since I had a baby a year ago, I was a little nervous about lounging poolside in a bathing suit. Ok, nervous is an understatement.
Despite have a bikini shot on my blog (which is only on here because Jamie is a photoshop wiz), it's the first time in over 12 years I've ever been snapped in a swimsuit. Believe it or not.
So, I decided it was time to buy a new bathing suit.
There's been a lot of buzz about a new line called Salt Swimwear. This sexy and flirty swimwear is a favorite to Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Eva Longoria, Mena Suvari, Lindsay Lohan, Marisa Miller, Jamie Pressly, Kristen Cavallari and Audrina Patridge. I'm sorry, can someone pick that up for me...I just name dropped like crazy.
But seriously, this swimwear line is all the rave in LA, and rightfully so. I met Layla Pakzad, the Salt designer. She is super nice and has a great eye for what works and what doesn't. Her designs are hip yet classic and sexy. Her sultry, yet comfy swimwear line is inspired from her travels to the Malibu beaches and Asia.
I instantly fell in love with the booty short bottom. It's amazing. It just seems to lift and hug your cheeks in all the right places. But, I've got 2 kids, and it didn't quite fit me the same way it fit the perfectly toned slim model with the amazing butt (who probably never has to work out, chase kids, or watch what she eats....BIATCH).
Note to self: Getch yo ass back in the gym.
The tops looked amazing on my small A-cup friend (I'm sure she's gonna appreciate that reference). It was the first time I longed for my IBTC days. I attempted to try on the Naomi top, but it felt like my D's were having a fierce lightsaber battle with the fabric. It reminded me of the time I tried to shove my size 7 foot into a size 6 Louboutin, just because they were 65% off. But there's something about a boobie part sticking out that one ups a hammer toe hanging off a wedge (BTW, don't think less of me if you see me rockin those Louboutins...just kidding...wink).
So, Plan B. Layla suggested her one piece Sienna. A one piece? What was she trying to imply? Seriously, she might as well called me PTA President, Minivan driving, cupcake baking, playdate having, soccer mom, right? The last time I wore a one piece was in the minnow simming lesson class at the YMCA. Is this what motherhood has reduced me to...first schleping around in dirty jeans, crocs, and a t-shirt everyday, now a ONE PIECE bathing suit...
Whoa Nelly, this ain't your mama's one piece...

When I put the Salt Sienna one piece on, I felt 20 years old again! If Madonna had been playing on the radio, I would have been doing that "Desperately Seeking Susan" dance all over the place. This bathing suit is SMOKIN HOT! OFF THE CHAIN! HOT TAMALE! FRICKIN INSANE! BANANAS! CALL 911-ON FIRE! I absolutely loved it.
And the best thing about a one piece? It covers your tummy so I didn't have to worry about walking around about to pass out from sucking in my stomach the whole time (ya'll know what I'm talking about, don't act like I'm the only one). I could just let it all hang out and no one noticed.
Thanks Layla! Salt is amazing. Can you come up with some one piece undergarments now (like a one piece girdle for moms)?
